One eastbound lane and both westbound lanes of Route 58 near the Franklin Bypass are reopened following a multi-vehicle accident Friday morning.
The accident happened about 10:20 a.m. between an 18-wheeler log truck, a large box truck and a passenger van. Two patients were taken to hospitals with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
After the initial accident, a second accident involving two passenger vehicles occurred about 11:30 a.m. in the eastbound lanes, but that one has since been cleared from the roadway. Rescue units from Franklin and Carrsville assisted with that accident, where two individuals also received injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
Traffic was being detoured down South Quay Road.
