Tyla Holloway of Suffolk was recently selected to participate in the 2014 Miss Junior Teen Norfolk pageant competition, which will take place Sept. 21.

The pageant announced its selections following interviews in the Norfolk area. Tyla submitted an application and took part in an interview session that was conducted by this year’s Norfolk pageant coordinator.

Tyla will compete in the Miss Teen division, one of four divisions with competitors ranging in age from 7 to 19. They will compete in modeling routines, including casual wear and formal wear, and will demonstrate their interview skills while interviewing with this year’s Norfolk judging panel. The contestants also will be judged on personality during all phases of competition.

If Tyla were to win the title of Miss Teen Norfolk, she would represent Norfolk and the surrounding communities at the national competition in Orlando, Fla., with more than $30,000 in prizes and awards available.
