The King’s Fork High School golf team experienced a tough loss on Tuesday to Indian River High School, falling 390-395 at Sleepy Hole Golf Course.
KF head coach Calvin Mitchell conceded it was painfully close, but “yet it was great because our scores continue to drop… that’s progress,” he stated in an email.
Bulldogs senior Griffen Saylor was the top scorer for his team with an 82.
On Sept. 10, the Bulldogs grabbed their second win of the season over Lakeland High School at Nansemond River Golf Club by the score of 411-422.
The medalist was Saylor with a score of 91. Junior Blake Harris had the low round for the Cavaliers with a 94.
King’s Fork (2-7) will face Hickory High School on Monday at Cahoon Plantation Golf Course.
