Marjorie Ellis Leggett, 68, of Chesapeake, passed away Sept. 29, 2013. She was born in Nansemond County to Grace B. Ellis and the late Joe E. Ellis. She retired after many years of service as the cafeteria manager at Deep Creek Elementary School.

In addition to her mother, Marjorie is survived by her husband of 46 years, Bobby R. Leggett Sr.; daughter, Kimberly A. Thomas; son, Bobby R. Leggett Jr.; and grandchildren, Jackson K. Thomas and Kerry G. Thomas.

A graveside funeral service will be held Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Holly Lawn Cemetery in Suffolk, with Dr. Thurman Hayes Jr. officiating.
