Due to rain forecast for tonight, some sports events have been postponed.

The Nansemond River and Western Branch football game was already rescheduled for Saturday at 7 p.m. at Western Branch.

The field hockey conference championship between Lakeland and Nansemond River will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Christopher Newport University.

An earlier report that the Lakeland/Deep Creek football game had been rescheduled was incorrect. That game is set to go on at 7 p.m. tonight (Friday) at Deep Creek High School.

Some other events may be rescheduled as well; check back later for more updates.
