James Augusta Robertson, 76, of 909 Lincoln Avenue, Suffolk died Monday, Oct. 28, 2013 at his residence. He was a native of Nansemond County and the son of the late Malachi Robertson and Ella Wiggins.

He was employed at Gwaltney Packing Company for 23 years.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Helen Robertson; five daughters, Margaret D. Hicks (Derwin), of Leesburg, Crystal R. Robertson, Tracey O. Robertson Smith (John), Jacqueline Robertson and Roslyn P. Robertson Rawlings (Chris), all of Suffolk; three sons, Elvis Dildy Sr. (Natalie), James T. Dildy Sr. (April), and Glenn E. Robertson (Rosetta), all of Suffolk; two sisters, Ella S. Hill and Christine Edmonds, both of Suffolk; three brothers, Oscar Robertson, Thomas Robertson (Mabel) and Roy Robertson (Michelle), all of Suffolk; 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Jefferson Dildy (Louella), Eugene Dildy (Christine) and Westly Dildy; sisters-in-law, Janice Ralph (Vernon), Minnie Dildy and Velma Dildy; devoted friend, Jack Neild; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 4, 2013, at Palm Tree Baptist Church officiated by the Rev. William Wiggins. Interment will be in Langston Cemetery. A visitation will be held Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013, from 6 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Crocker Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
