Kappa Delta Pi, the international education honor society, held its 2013 induction ceremony on Nov. 3 in Vaughan Auditorium on the historic Chowan University campus. Instructor in English and Director of the Writing Center, Kerri Albertson served as the keynote speaker for the society’s class of inductees, addressing the fine balance between social skills and academic talents and the need for both in the working world.
Janice Ellis, a senior majoring in elementary education, and Courtney Klages, a junior majoring in social studies education, were among the 19 inducted at the ceremony.
To apply for membership in Kappa Delta Pi, a student must have successfully completed 12 hours of education class credits at Chowan University and earned a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
