A Lakeland High School alumnus died Tuesday in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital after a car accident.

Darrin LaShawn Thorpe Sr., 29, was a member of Joy Apostolic Ministries. He was predeceased by a son and a grandfather and leaves behind his parents, stepfather, grandparents, a sister, his fiancée and two daughters.
