To the editor:

I would like to applaud our Hampton Roads congressional delegation for its support of the “Upton Bill” or “Keep Your Health Plan Act,” which will allow individuals to keep their current health plans and offers others the opportunity to continue purchasing plans they deem adequate and affordable.

In the spirit of the President’s own words, “If you like your plan, you can keep it.” I would urge the President himself, and more members of the Democratic party to support this legislation.

As a co-sponsor of the Upton Bill, Congressman Randy Forbes is speaking up for not only his constituency, but also for the nearly 5 million Americans who saw their policies terminated and were offered nothing more than a choice between unaffordable premiums or exorbitant deductibles.
