Man airlifted after crash

A man was flown via Nightingale to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital after the Mercury sedan he was driving struck the back of a farm-use truck at the intersection of South Quay Road and Holy Neck Road on Sunday.
The accident happened at 5:44 p.m. The preliminary investigation indicates the farm-use truck was traveling westbound when it was struck from the rear by the sedan. The sedan then struck a tree.
The roadway was closed briefly while police and rescue personnel worked the accident.
