The girls’ basketball team at Nansemond River High School not only produced a season-opening win for its head coach on Tuesday, it also landed Calvin Mason his 100th victory since taking the position.

The Lady Warriors (1-0, 0-0) defeated host Grassfield High School 57-45 and were led by sophomore forward Aneka Yelverton with 20 points to go with three steals. NR junior guard Laura Ortiz contributed 11 points and junior power forward Ashley Wilson had eight points and 13 rebounds.
