A Suffolk man succumbed to his injuries Monday after being involved in a traffic crash on Nansemond Parkway on Dec. 9.

William Lee Lawrence, 58, had been in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital since the crash.

The accident took place at 6:54 p.m. at the intersection of Nansemond Parkway and Sportsman Boulevard, according to a news release.

An incident report on Lawrence’s death said his vehicle crossed the center line of the roadway, side-swiped two vehicles and crashed head-on into a third.

The other driver involved in the head-on crash, age 41, also was transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
