Gary Thomas Baines, 54, passed away Jan. 13, 2014. He was born in Suffolk, the son of Nancy Duke Baines and the late Raymond Thomas “Tommy” Baines. He worked for Jackson Real Estate Company. Gary owned the band “32 South” and was its drummer and lead singer. He also played for numerous other bands throughout Suffolk and Hampton Roads. He was a member of Cypress Chapel Christian Church and the Suffolk Moose Lodge No. 141.

Gary is survived by his wife of 21 years, Lisa Diane Baines; mother, Nancy D. Baines; daughter, Charlene Barnes (Stephen); sons, Keith Tadlock Baines (Amie), Christopher Thomas Baines (Ashley), Timothy Baines (Candy), Joseph Andrew Baines (Jennifer); grandchildren, Emily, Maicey, Alayna, Daron, Ashlin, Dillon, Jessa, Jarrett, Jacob Thomas, Addie and Kenzie.

A funeral will be held Friday, Jan. 17, 2014, at 1 p.m. at Cypress Chapel Christian Church with Chaplain Richard Moon and the Rev. Chris Surber officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Friends may join the family for visitation Thursday night from 7 to 8 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the residence. Moose rites will be held Thursday night at the funeral home at 7 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society, 4416 Expressway Drive, Virginia Beach, VA 23452, earmarked for Suffolk Relay For Life.
