The following local students attending Hampden-Sydney College were named to the dean’s list for the fall semester of the 2013-2014 academic year:

• Samuel Thomas Rapoport, a graduate of Nansemond-Suffolk Academy and the son of Steve and Troy Rapoport of Suffolk.
• William Douglas Russell Jr., a graduate of Nansemond-Suffolk Academy and the son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Douglas Russell of Suffolk.
• Brennan Taylor Weaver, a graduate of Nansemond-Suffolk Academy and the son of Mr. and Mrs. James E. Weaver of Suffolk.

To earn this distinction, students must achieve at least a 3.3 semester grade point average out of a possible 4.0.
