Chase C. Montambo of Suffolk was one of about 250 cadets from Virginia Military Institute to march in the inauguration parade for Gov. Terry McAuliffe on Jan. 11 in Richmond.

Cadet Montambo’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Scott J. Montambo of Suffolk.

Approximately 250 of VMI’s 1,600 cadets returned early from Christmas break on Jan. 9 to prepare to march in the inauguration parade. All cadets holding rank in the Corps of Cadets returned to march, along with many volunteers.

The Jan. 11 parade marked the second time in as many years that members of the Corps have participated in an inauguration parade. The entire Corps marched in President Barack Obama’s inauguration parade in Washington, D.C., last year.
