Nansemond-Suffolk Academy’s home swim meet for Tuesday was canceled and will not be rescheduled, according to NSA athletic director Betty Jean Riddick. She also said Tuesday’s girls’ and boys’ basketball home games scheduled against Bishop Sullivan Catholic High School are in the process of being rescheduled.
Riddick said a decision would likely be made Tuesday evening about whether or not Wednesday’s girls’ basketball road game against Western Branch High School would be played as scheduled.
All of Suffolk Christian Academy’s sports events on Tuesday were canceled and SCA athletic director Steven Milner said he is playing Thursday’s schedule by ear, with dates in hand if there is a need to reschedule.
Suffolk’s public schools postponed their Tuesday basketball games due to exams. As of Tuesday morning, they had not made any official changes to this week’s sports schedule due to the weather.
After last week’s weather delays, King’s Fork High School activities director Randy Jessee provided an updated schedule for this week, which could be altered should weather intervene again. On Wednesday, the boy’s basketball team plays at Phoebus High School, while the girls’ play at home. On Thursday, the girls’ team is at Nansemond River High School, and the boys’ host Denbigh High School. On Friday, the boys’ host Lakeland High School, and the girls’ visit the Lady Cavaliers.
Nansemond River High School activities director Nancy Richey stated she expects, at a minimum, the possibility of Wednesday’s home wrestling event being postponed.
