Four people were displaced in two separate blazes that kept firefighters occupied Monday night and Tuesday afternoon.

The first fire happened in the 900 block of East Washington Street on Monday. It was reported at 7:04 p.m. The fire occurred in the second-floor apartment of the two-apartment home. The ground floor was vacant.

Two adults were displaced, city spokeswoman Diana Klink said. A male resident was transported to the hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

Robert Shapiro of the American Red Cross said one of the residents was being assisted with food, clothing and shelter.

The second blaze occurred at a mobile home in the 1100 block of Audubon Road at 12:43 p.m. on Tuesday. Firefighters found smoke and flames coming from the front door of the trailer, and the fire was quickly extinguished. One adult and a child were displaced and were being assisted by nearby families.

No firefighters were injured in either fire, and the fire marshal’s office is investigating the cause of both blazes.
