Nansemond River High School’s boys’ basketball team shut down the visiting Phoebus High School Phantoms 76-46 on Monday, the Warriors’ senior night.

Warriors head coach Ed Young said his team “jumped on them early, never looked back, never gave up the lead.”

The Warriors outscored Phoebus every quarter and were led in scoring for the game by junior Scott Spencer, who had 22 points to go with six rebounds. He came off the bench as Young took the occasion to go with an all-senior starting lineup.

Nansemond River (17-3, 6-2) played Heritage High School (15-4, 7-1) on Thursday night in a game that will help determine who wins the conference regular season title and receives the No. 1 seed in the conference tournament.
