The Nansemond-Suffolk Academy boys’ basketball team has been competitive this week, nearly toppling its visitors from Hampton Roads Academy on Tuesday, before ultimately falling at the buzzer, 54-51.

Sophomore guard Morgan Wentz led the Saints with 15 points, and junior forward C.J. Patterson had 14.

NSA has struggled this year, particularly in a challenging conference field. The Saints went winless in the Tidewater Conference of Independent Schools last year, but they ensured that would not happen again on Monday when they defeated visiting Peninsula Catholic High School by the score of 51-34.
