Two people were struck on Godwin Boulevard Wednesday night, but both are expected to survive the ordeal.
City spokeswoman Diana Klink said a 79-year-old man, who lives nearby, reportedly walked into the path of oncoming traffic in the 2300 block of Godwin Boulevard, near its intersection with Route 460.
He was struck by a Honda operated by a 29-year-old female and was ground transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening.
A woman who stopped to assist the victim in the median was struck by another vehicle and taken to Sentara Obici Hospital with no visible injuries, Klink said.
The investigation is ongoing.
