Suspects sought in thefts

A security camera caught images of two suspects in a rash of thefts from cars that took place over the weekend in North Suffolk.

The two are described as white males in their late teens or early 20s, according to a news release from the city. The thefts occurred in the early morning hours on Monday.

In the video, the suspects can be seen walking up to a white van and trying the door before walking away.

The spate of thefts took place on Pughsville Road, Gingko Court, Hawks Nest Lane, Deerfield Drive, Weatherby Way, Loblolly Court and Deanes Station Road. Stolen items included wallets and purses, money, jewelry, prescription medications, a remote-control car, a GPS unit and a credit card.

A string of similar incidents took place in Carrollton the last two weekends, but it is unknown if the two groups are related to each other, city spokeswoman Diana Klink said earlier this week.

Anyone who has information is asked to call Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP or text the keyword SPDVATIP and the tip to 274637 (CRIMES). Tipsters never have to give their names or appear in court, and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
