Virginia STEAM Academy has begun accepting applications for its upcoming summer camp — Summer STEAM 2014.
Two Suffolk citizens, M. Caroline Martin and Judy Stewart, are spearheading the commonwealth’s first science, technology, engineering and applied mathematics-focused residential academy, which could induct its initial cohort of ninth- through 12th-grade students this fall.
Intended to test the waters for the academy, according to organizers, the first camp was held last summer.
The 2014 camp will encompass two sessions: July 6-12 and July 20-26, with 120 seats available. For more information, visit www.vasteam.org/SummerSteam.html.
