A hunger relief event in North Suffolk originally scheduled for Feb. 1 but canceled due to snow has now been rescheduled for Saturday, March 22.

The Stop Hunger Now event at Ebenezer United Methodist Church, 1589 Steeple Drive, will take place from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Shift 1, 7:30 to 8:45 a.m., will involve unloading the truck and setting up; shift 2 — the first food-packing shift — is from 9 to 10:30 a.m.; shift 2 for food packing is 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; clean-up is from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.

Organizers were aiming to package 100,000 meals, according to North Suffolk Rotary Club President Wendy Hosick. Meals in quart-sized bags feed a family of six.
