Hunter leads Builders in spring event

Suffolk’s Ben Hunter started off the spring golf season as The Apprentice School team’s low man in a four-team event at the Carolina Shores Golf and Country Club in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
The Builders fielded two teams, maroon and gold, for the competition. Hunter hit a 76 on the par-72 course to lead the maroon squad to a second-place finish with a team score of 330. Surry Community College won with a 306, Johnston Community College took third with a 344 and the Builders’ gold squad took fourth with a 370.
The same teams will face off again at The Hackler Course in Conway, S.C., on Sunday morning.
