Firefighters look over the scene after extinguishing a brush fire off Bob White Parkway on Saturday afternoon.

The fire marshal’s office is investigating what sparked a brush fire that burned about three acres of fields and woods off Bob White Parkway on Saturday.

Engines 5, 10 and 25 and Battalion 2 responded to the fire in the 300 block of Bob White Parkway, near a residential area off Shoulders Hill Road. The blaze was reported just before 5 p.m.

Firefighters were hampered by moderate winds spreading the fire but managed to extinguish it within 20 minutes.

Volunteers from the Chuckatuck Volunteer Fire Department assisted. There were no injuries.
