The Nansemond River High School baseball team landed a huge 5-2 win on Friday over perennial Southeastern District power and host Great Bridge High School.

The Warriors’ Kieton Rivers recorded two hits and two runs scored, while Trevor Riggs hit a two-out, two-run home run in the seventh to help give his team a cushion against the Wildcats. Mike Parmentier earned the win on the mound.

Nansemond River hosted Grassfield High School at 4 p.m. on Saturday.
