GATESVILLE, N.C. — Doyle Cofield, 82, passed away March 31, 2014, at his home. He was the son of the late Mary Sue and James A. Cofield. He was predeceased by his wife, Ruby Wise Cofield, and his son, Raymond Doyle Cofield. Doyle loved fishing from dawn to dusk.

He is survived by his daughter, Rebekah C. Grimsley, of Washington, D.C.; daughter-in-law, Cheryl G. Eason, of Sunbury, N.C.; grandchildren, Doyle Earley, Bronson Earley and Joshua Earley; sisters, Edith Palmer, of Santa Anna, Calif., Merle Groves and Bobbie Jean Byrd, both of Suffolk.

A funeral service will be conducted Thursday, April 3, 2014, at 2 p.m. by Pastor Gene Asbill at R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home and Crematory, 509 W. Washington St., Suffolk, VA 23434. Burial will follow at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens.
