Suffolk police are investigating a shooting early Thursday morning that sent a man to the hospital.
Derrick Lavell Parker, 23, of Suffolk, was taken to Bon Secours Harbour View for treatment of a gunshot wound to his arm, which was not considered life-threatening, city spokeswoman Diana Klink said in a press release.
Officers in the area of Harbour View heard multiple gunshots shortly before 1 a.m., Klink said in the release, and 911 operators received multiple calls.
Preliminary investigation indicates Parker was walking in the 6100 block of Brookwood Drive when he was shot, Klink said.
There is no suspect information at this time, and the investigation is ongoing.
