Work on West Washington and Saratoga streets is nearing its long-awaited end.

On Friday, work will begin on the final phase of construction, which means a change in the traffic pattern will be necessary. A full closure of vehicle traffic in the 100 block of West Washington Street and the Saratoga Street intersection will take place, although the easternmost portion of West Washington will be available for on-street parking.

The contractor is expected to work throughout this weekend and finish Monday or Tuesday. After the contractor is finished, the city will repave the road and reopen it to all traffic.

Completion is set for next Friday, if not sooner, according to an email from the city.
