Player of the Week nominees

Following are this week’s nominees for the Duke Automotive-Suffolk News-Herald Player of the Week:
- Brooklyne Carr, sophomore for Nansemond-Suffolk Academy softball: She was incredibly productive on offense, going 8-for-10 at the plate, powering her team to a 2-0 week. In Monday’s 20-8 win in Richmond at Collegiate School, she went 5-for-6. In Thursday’s 11-8 win over visiting Cape Henry Collegiate School, she went 3-for-4.
- Mike Parmentier, senior for Nansemond River High School baseball: He threw 13 strikeouts while pitching a complete game against Beaufort High School in South Carolina on Wednesday. He also chipped in offensively, with two hits and a run batted in during the Warriors’ 3-2 win.
- Truman Boyd, senior for King’s Fork High School baseball: He pitched a complete game against Churchland High School on Monday, throwing six strikeouts and shutting out the Truckers to help his team win 2-0 and advance to the King’s Fork Spring Break Classic Baseball Tournament title game on Saturday evening.
