Individuals interested in becoming the interim School Board member for Sleepy Hole borough, through Dec. 31, have until 2 p.m. Wednesday (today) to submit an application.
Forms can be downloaded at www.spsk12.net or obtained in person from the School Administrative Offices, 100 N. Main St.
Together with any additional information or résumés, they must be returned to Cynthia B. Chavis, clerk of the board, by the 2 p.m. deadline.
During a special meeting at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the City Council chambers, the board is expected to go into a closed session to discuss legal matters concerning zoning for Pioneer Elementary School, according to school district spokeswoman Bethanne Bradshaw.
The interim replacement for Diane Foster, who has retired from Sleepy Hole, will also be discussed during the closed session, Bradshaw added.
“The board might reconvene into open session to vote on matters relating to these two areas,” she stated.
A special election to find a permanent replacement for Foster — the term expires at the end of 2016 — will be held in November.
