The Nansemond River High School boys’ soccer team defeated visiting Smithfield High School on Friday by the score of 5-1.

Warriors head coach Dustin Tordoff stated in a text message that his team “dominated play for most of the first half and had a 5-0 lead at the half.”

Leading Nansemond River offensively was sophomore Axel Lopez with two goals and sophomore Daniel Tallarico, who added two, as well. Sophomore Maliq Webster scored once.

Seniors Gabe Everette and Addison Hagberg had two assists apiece and sophomore Brayan Morales had one.

Nansemond River (6-3, 2-0) hosts Denbigh High School on Tuesday.
