The Isle of Wight Academy softball team hosted Broadwater Academy on Friday and handed the Lady Vikings a 5-1 loss.

Sophomore Trish Webb of Suffolk was the winning pitcher, throwing nine strikeouts. She was also a key offensive contributor, hitting a triple, along with eighth-grader Kaylin Manner. Senior Dianne Davis hit two doubles.

IWA (9-4, 7-0) visits Atlantic Shores Christian School on Monday.
