Carolyn Perkins Phillips

Mrs. Carolyn Perkins Phillips, of 1982 Hosier Road, passed away peacefully on Monday morning, May 5, 2014.

She was born in Suffolk to the late James A. and Dorothy Perkins, preceded by her sister, Angela Perkins, and her brother, James A. Perkins Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 38 years, Charles Phillips; three loving daughters: Crystal Phillips, of Suffolk, Cherri Phillips (Steffanie), of Fredericksburg, and Charmaine Harding (Sampson), of Upper Marlboro, Md.; a loving sister, Jackie White (Edward), of Hampton; a devoted and loving caretaker, Carolyn B. Williams; a loving and devoted cousin, Almena B. Smith; and two grandchildren.

She retired from Franklin City and Hertford County Public School systems.

There will be a Delta Omega Omega Service on Friday at 6:30 p.m., and a family visitation from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Metropolitan Baptist Church. A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2014, at noon at Metropolitan Baptist Church, 125 County St. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens.
