Lady Warriors scare away Phantoms

The Nansemond River High School softball team used a 10-run third inning to break the game open and defeat visiting Phoebus High School 18-0 on Tuesday night.
“We’re just a more talented team,” Lady Warriors head coach Gabe Rogers said.
Freshman Katelyn Biando went 4-for-4, with a triple and four runs batted in. Sophomore Calah Savage had three RBIs and sophomore Lauren Davis had two. Sophomore KateLynn Hodgkiss went 2-for-3, with a triple, playing very effectively in the leadoff spot.
Sophomore Lauren Maddrey went 2-for-3, with a double and got the win on the mound, improving to 9-1.
Nansemond River (9-1, 4-0) visited Warhill High School on Wednesday, plays at Denbigh High School tonight and at Lakeland High School (6-7, 2-1) on Friday.
