A woman reported to Suffolk police on Monday that she was raped, potentially in Suffolk, by a man whose car she got into in Chesapeake.
Officers were dispatched to Bon Secours Maryview Hospital on Monday. The woman reported she was walking down Military Highway in Chesapeake during the early morning hours when she got into a vehicle with an unknown male, who drove her to a location she believed to be in Suffolk. The woman said she was held against her will and raped there, city spokeswoman Diana Klink said.
The investigation is ongoing, Klink said.
