A Suffolk man faces numerous charges of sex crimes after the grand jury met on Tuesday.

Curtis Jones Sr., 54, of the 200 block of Pine Street, is charged with 29 crimes, including rape, incest, abduction and aggravated sexual battery by a parent or grandparent.

The female victim reported the incidents occurred between Jan. 20-24, according to a city spokeswoman at the time the charges were filed in February.

Also facing charges after the grand jury indicted 43 defendants on 157 charges is James Lamont Dillard, 36. His 8-year-old son reported to school officials on March 20 that his father beat him on the previous day, according to a city spokeswoman in March. Injuries to the child’s back were consistent with being beaten with a leather belt and buckle.

Dillard was indicted on one count of child neglect or abuse with reckless disregard and one count of child cruelty.
