Milton Ray Buck

Milton Ray Buck, 86, passed away June 9, 2014. He was born in Greenville, N.C., the son of the late William W. and Rosa B. Buck. He was predeceased by his wife, Shirlee P. Buck; three sisters; and three brothers.

Ray was a U.S. Army veteran, having served with the merchant marines. He later went on to work and retire after 35 years from Ford Motor Company as a supervisor. Ray was a charter member of Wilroy Baptist Church, where he was a lifetime deacon, sang in the choir and was very active in the church and the community. He was a member of the Wilroy-Eastover Ruritan Club and was a former Mason.

Ray is survived by his children, Timothy R. Buck and wife, Ann, Scot M. Buck, and Stacy Piland; grandchildren, Billy K. Buck, Aaron J. Piland and Brandon W. Piland; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Wilroy Baptist Church with the Rev. Tim Rawls and the Rev. Robert Carpenter officiating. Burial will follow at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. Friends may join the family Monday night for a time of visitation from 7 to 8 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory.
