The creative juices will be flowing at the Suffolk Art Gallery this summer.

The gallery and Suffolk Art League have partnered to provide a slew of classes for all ages in a variety of mediums.

“It’s always fun,” said Linda Bunch, executive director of the Suffolk Art League.

Starting today are Summer Art Days, which will be held on Thursdays through Aug. 7 except for July 3. Ages 5 to 8 will have a session from 10 a.m. to 11:30 p.m., with ages 9 to 14 from 1 to 3 p.m. Registration is $1 per day per child, and registration begins 30 minutes prior to each session on a first-come, first-served basis.

“If you’re coming to art days, be sure to come early to get signed up,” Bunch said. “They usually fill up.”

A variety of art projects, including tissue paper landscapes and salt watercolor weaving, are planned for this summer. Summer Art Days are funded in part by the Suffolk Fine Arts Commission.

On July 15, a “Pure Color” pastel workshop for ages 14 to adult will be held from 9:30 a.m. to noon. The fee is $27 for Suffolk Art League members or $32 for non-members. The registration deadline is July 8. Bring your own pastels.

On July 30 and Aug. 20, a “Young Artists” class for ages 3 to 5 will be held. The registration fee is $6 for Suffolk Art League members or $8 for non-members per workshop. Registration deadline is one week prior.

Further into the summer, Aug. 8-12 will be art camp week. Ages 6 to 9 will attend from 10 a.m. to noon, with ages 8 to 12 from 1 to 3 p.m. The fee is $45 for Suffolk Art League members or $50 for non-members, with a registration deadline of Aug. 1. The theme is “Do It Yourself.”

Finally, on Saturdays from Aug. 2 to 23 and Thursdays from Aug. 21 to Sept. 11, quilting classes for adults will be held from 10 a.m. to noon. The registration fee is $30 for Suffolk Art League members and $33 for non-members. The registration deadline is July 25.
