Mailbox vandals sought

Suffolk police are looking for unknown vandals who damaged at least eight mailboxes in the Holland area of the city in recent days.
One mailbox on Ellis Road and two on Holy Neck Road were damaged overnight on June 25 or in the early morning hours of June 26, city spokesman Tim Kelley said.
The vandals struck again on June 27-28, when five mailboxes were damaged on Old South Quay Road between afternoon Friday and late morning on Saturday.
There are no witnesses or leads in the cases, Kelley said.
Anyone who has information is asked to call Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP or text the keyword SPDVATIP and the tip to 274637 (CRIMES). Tipsters never have to give their names or appear in court, and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
