In preparation for the 2014-2015 school year, Isle of Wight County Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Katrise Perera has announced administrative changes and shifts.

The first of these changes include the selection of Smithfield Middle School’s new principal, as well as naming individuals to fill the math and science coordinator positions.

“Our goal is to capitalize on the strengths of our leaders and put individuals in roles that we feel will most directly benefit our students and teachers,” Perera said in a press release. “We seek to provide our administrators with a variety of experiences that will help groom them for future leadership positions. Change is a good thing and I believe we have put together administrative teams that will help move our schools forward as IWCS seeks to prepare 21st century learners for educational excellence.”
