Chowan University saw 182 seniors, including three from the Suffolk area, walk across the commencement stage on May 10 in the Helms Center on the historic campus

• Sarah Hurst of Carrsville, graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. Hurst is an Alpha Chi Scholar.
• Alan Joyner of Suffolk graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in interdisciplinary studies.
• Antoinette Lawhorn of Suffolk graduated on the dean’s list with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration management. Lawhorn was featured in Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.
