SUFFOLK — Jennifer Michelle Pollard, born April 9, 2008, went to live with Jesus on Monday, July 14, 2014. Our beautiful “Angel Girl” daughter served her God in many ways, and especially as His instrument to draw many together in prayer as she was suddenly thrust in the short fight for her life by a very rare disease. She loved hopping, playing with balls, singing, chasing bubbles and balloons and swinging. She also loved being read to.

Jennifer is survived by her parents, J. Michael and Carolyn Jackson Pollard, and her twin sister, Julia Caroline Pollard, of Suffolk. Jennifer is also survived by her Granny Betty Jackson, of Lawrenceville, her PaPa Johnie Pollard and Grandma Shirley Pollard, of Morehead City, N.C. She is survived by her uncles and aunts: Bruce and Penny Jackson, of Williamsburg, Greg and Cindy Jackson, of Courtland, Faye and James Cree, of Prescott, Ariz., and cousins Emily Jackson and Bruce Jackson II, of Williamsburg, Dana, Jason, Jada and Duncan Brittle, of Courtland, Molly Jackson, of Charlotte, N.C., Kimberley Cree and Kaitlyn Cosentino, of Prescott, Ariz., and James Cree IV, of Denver, Colo. She is also survived by her very loving church family and very special friends. Jennifer was predeceased by her maternal grandfather, B. Waylon Jackson, her paternal grandmother, Deles “Dell” Pollard, and beloved Jack Dog. Special thanks go to the many new friends she made while being so sweetly and lovingly cared for at the Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters, Norfolk — the Hospitalist Team, the Hematology/Oncology Team, the PICU Team, the Child Life Team, the Chaplain Team and so many others.

The celebration of Jennifer’s life will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 18, 2014, at High Street United Methodist Church, 31164 Camp Parkway, Courtland, VA 23837 with the Rev. John Ashley officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, July 17, 2014, at Wright Funeral Home, 206 W. Fourth Ave., Franklin. Memorial donations may be made to High Street United Methodist Church, P.O. Box, 218, Franklin, VA 23851 or Children’s Hospital of the Kings Daughters (choice of two: PICU, or Children’s Cancer and Blood Disorder Center), 601 Children’s Lane, Norfolk, VA 23507.
