Michael Copeland, 59, of Suffolk, died Monday, July 15, 2014, at Sentara Obici Hospital.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Horace Douglas Copeland and Louise R. Copeland. He was the owner and operator of Copeland Tree Service for more than 30 years.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Adriane Copeland of Suffolk; one daughter, Adriane Michelle Branch of Suffolk; four sons, Michael Kane of Philadelphia, and Ke’lone Branch (Victoria), Anthony Branch (Shametrice) and Michael Copeland Jr., all of Suffolk; 8 sisters, 10 brothers, 11 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, July 21, at Gethsemane Baptist Church, with the Rev. Ernest Simmons delivering the eulogy. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
