The Isle of Wight Public School system has announced a series of administrative appointments this summer, including two this week in Windsor and Smithfield.
Ellen Couch will join Windsor Elementary School as the new assistant principal. Couch is an Isle of Wight resident and former IWCS employee. She comes to the WES team from her position in the early childhood development program at Smart Beginnings.
Couch holds a master’s degree in teaching from Christopher Newport University and an education specialist degree in administration and supervision from the University of Virginia.
Patricia Oliver has been selected as the new athletic director at Smithfield High School. Oliver comes to SHS with many years of experience in Stafford County as a physical education teacher, as well as a coach and assistant athletic director at North Stafford High School.
She also holds master’s degrees in both sports leadership and school administration from Virginia Commonwealth University.
“We look forward to rounding out the division’s school administrative team with these two new additions,” said Perera.
“Both ladies are joining us with impressive leadership skills and educational backgrounds that are sure to be beneficial in supporting our schools as we continue striving toward educational excellence.”
