A Suffolk man was arrested Sunday morning after he allegedly threatened to burn a house, city spokeswoman Diana Klink said.

Don Cornelius Newby, 35, is charged with two counts of threaten to bomb or damage building.

Klink said officers were dispatched about 2:55 a.m. to the residence in the 200 block of North Broad Street. Officers allegedly found Newby at the scene. He reportedly made the threats following a verbal and physical altercation that occurred Thursday, Klink said.
