On Wednesday, July 23, Mrs. Mary E. Jordan, 94 years old, went home to live with the Lord. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sim T. Jordan; daughters, Shirley Mae Jordan and Dorothy Coley; son, Sim Jordan Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memory four daughters, Evelyn Godette, Catherine Gates, both of Suffolk, Sylvia Fields (Ronnie), of Newport News, and Connie Jolly, of Lanham, Md.; three sons, James Jordan, of Suffolk, Vernon Jordan (Ruth), of Passaic, N.J., and Edward Jordan (Sherry), of Suffolk; three special grandchildren, Sonya Jordan, of Virginia Beach, Chiquita Stagg, of Virginia Beach, and Nikkia Jordan, of Suffolk; a special friend, Mr. Warnnie L. Harris, of Suffolk; and grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and friends.

A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Monday, July 28, 2014, at Metropolitan Baptist Church. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held on Sunday, July 27, 2014, from 6 to 7 p.m. at Crocker Funeral Home. The family will assemble at noon at 107 ½ N. Broad St. for the processional to the church.
