SUFFOLK — Pattie Taylor Bailey, 103, of 110 Robertson St., departed this life on Sunday, July 27, 2014.

She was a lifelong resident of the Whaleyville community and a member of Mineral Spring Baptist Church. She was predeceased by her parents, the late Joe W. and Pearl Sweatt Taylor; her husband, Roy M. Bailey; and son, Clinton M. Bailey. She is survived by one daughter, Hazel Bailey Boykin, of Suffolk, one sister, Lanie Eastman, of Richmond, two sisters-in-law Florine Parker and Glorine Struthers, nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
A service celebrating her life will be held on Friday, Aug. 1, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Mineral Spring Baptist Church, 4849 Mineral Spring Road, Suffolk. The family will receive friends at the church between 1 and 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mineral Spring Baptist Church for mission and education programming.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Peebles Funeral Home.
