Suffolk officials have announced that the city’s first TGIF party of the season at Bennett’s Creek Park has been canceled because of the rain.

“Due to current rainy conditions and the threat of more rain this evening making the site conditions unfavorable for the event, tonight’s Suffolk Parks & Recreation TGIF Concert at Bennett’s Creek Park has been canceled,” spokeswoman Diana Klink stated in a press release Friday afternoon.

The next TGIF concert at Bennett’s Creek Park is scheduled for Aug. 8, featuring the music of The Deloreans. The event is scheduled from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.
