To the editor:

Few people realize the federal ban on an Internet access tax is set to expire this year, and even fewer realize that the ban is actually controversial.

For those of us who already send a significant portion of our income to the federal government each year, this is a no-brainer: We don’t need yet another tax. Unfortunately, the ban is up for consideration in Congress, and its fate is unknown.

I’m glad Rep. Randy Forbes (R-4th, Va.) supported the ban and voted to make it permanent. We need more politicians like Congressman Forbes, who recognize that we already pay enough in taxes.
